Topic: IT IS ENOUGH!
TEXT: I CHRONICLES 21:1-15
VERSE OF THE DAY: "SO WHEN JESUS HAD RECEIVED THE SOUR WINE, HE SAID 'IT IS FINISHED!' AND BOWING HIS HEAD, HE GAVE UP HIS SPIRIT"- JOHN 19:30
Nothing makes a man naked, exposed to danger and bitterness of life as sin. Adam and the wife forfeited paradise once sin came. They became strangers and afraid of their land of promise. In the same vein, anytime satan wants to enslave man, even in his paradise, he strives to change his focus from God, to sins. Once he succeeds in diverting your attention to actions offensive to God, you lose your peace. It has been a prevalent norm that once a man indulges in evil, anybody around him tends to partake of the terrible consequences of the bitterness of sin. Such occurrence made God to ask Israel in Ezekiel 18:2, "what do you learn when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel", saying, "the fathers have eaten sour grapes and the children's teeth are set on edge?" Most people today suffer the penalty of the errors of the fathers, because if the foundation be destroyed, even the righteous tends to suffer for a while, until he carefully and intentionally sets a new and better foundation. In Judges 6:25-26 for example, Daniel and his colleagues suffered slavery in Babylon, but the causative abominations were accumulated atrocities of the ancestors for the past 700 years.
From the account of Genesis chapter 3, it becomes clear that the penalty for sins is the bitter/sour grape (suffering) and death, and in order for God to restore man to His original plan, somebody has to be a willing ransom for man, to suffer and die on behalf of mankind. That is what Jesus did on the cross. He both took the sour grape and died, even without committing any sin. Therefore, since the complete prize has been paid, He declared, "it is enough!" No more should we pay for another man's error in Jesus Christ. I therefore declare to the agents of destruction molesting your life, to hold their peace, because enough is enough!
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, because you said it is finished, I declare therefore, to the devil preying my life, "it is enough, in Jesus' name, Amen.
